---- — SALEM — A woman was taken to the hospital yesterday morning following a two-car crash that briefly closed part of Interstate 93 south.
The unidentified victim was taken to Holy Family Hospital in Methuen with minor injuries, according to Sgt. Steve Callinan of the New Hampshire State Police.
The woman was treated and released, he said. A second person involved in the accident declined an ambulance ride to the hospital, according to Capt. Jon Brackett of the Salem Fire Department.
The driver in the second car was cited for following too close, Callinan said. No names were available.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:10 a.m. between Exits 1 and 2, delaying traffic for a brief period before lanes were reopened.
Traffic was further delayed when a tire flew off a car on I-93 north and struck a car on the south side of the interstate, Callinan said.
No one was hurt and there was minimal damage to the vehicle that was hit, he said.
