---- — DANVILLE — Four-term incumbent Elisabeth “Betsy” Sanders is fighting to keep her seat in House District 12.
Sanders, a Republican, is facing a challenge from fellow Danville resident and Democrat Thomas Billbrough Jr. Both ran uncontested in the primary Sept. 11. The election is Nov. 6.
Both candidates have served on the town’s Budget Committee. Sanders was also Danville’s treasurer for eight years. Billbrough ran for selectman the last two years, but lost.
Sanders was a member of the House Fish and Game and Marine Resources Committee during the last legislative session.
District 12 only represents Danville. In 2010, Sanders was the top vote-getter among seven candidates running for four seats.
Before the recent redistricting, Danville was part of House District 7, which also represented Chester and Sandown.
