Salem Legion members lay wreath in Washington

SALEM, N.H.. —Members of American Legion Post 63 recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to visit the veterans’ memorials and Arlington National Cemetery.

The group was allowed to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The tomb is guarded by the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, which has served since 1784 and is the oldest active duty unit in the U.S. Army.

The wreath was donated by Ford’s Florist in Salem.

Participants were: Enrico Casaletto, Post 63 Adjutant; Patricia Casaletto, Unit 63 president; Walter Coleman, Post 63 Sergeant at Arms; and Gail Coleman, Unit 63 Sergeant at Arms.

Members of an Honor Flight from Rochester, N.Y., were present for the ceremony.
