Atkinson seniors have many activities planned

ATKINSON — The Atkinson Senior Program is taking a foliage trip to Plymouth, Mass., on Oct. 11.

Cruise Plymouth Harbor aboard the Pilgrim Belle, an authentic Mississippi-style paddle wheeler. A local history expert narrates the historic harbor of Plymouth. Enjoy a gull’s eye view of Plymouth Rock, the Pilgrim’s Mayflower II, Plymouth Beach, Clark’s Island and the Gurnet Point Lighthouse. The cruise takes 75 minutes.

Before the cruise, have lunch at Isaac’s Restaurant. For more than 187 years, Isaac’s Restaurant has been serving seafood, steaks, chops and pasta.

The bus leaves from Atkinson Community Center, 4 Main St., at 9 a.m., lunch at Isaac’s at 11:30 a.m., then cruise at 1:30 p.m. Return to Atkinson at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The cost is $48, which includes coach bus transportation, lunch, tax and gratuity at Isaac’s, and the Pilgrim Belle cruise. The bus driver’s gratuity is not included.

This trip is for Atkinson seniors only. Call Noriko at 362-5531 to reserve your seat. Payment is due on Oct. 4.

Also, start thinking about Halloween. The Senior Halloween Party, costume not required, is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Join fellow seniors from surrounding centers for a ghoulish good time at the Granite Rose function facility in Hampstead. There will be prizes for the best costumes.

The party will start with an hour of dancing, then the costume march followed by dinner, then entertainment by the five-piece Lee Lewis and the DooWop Allstars.

The cost for Atkinson seniors is $20, $28 for other town seniors. The Atkinson Recreation Senior program will pick up $8 per Atkinson senior. RSVP to Noriko 362-5531 by Oct. 10; payment is due by Oct. 22.

Join a trip to the musical “Guys and Dolls” at North Shore Music Theatre and lunch at Angelica’s on Thursday, Nov. 8.

The coach bus will leave from Atkinson Community Center at 10:30 a.m. and stop at Angelica’s Restaurant in Middleton, Mass., for lunch.

“Guys and Dolls” starts at 2 p.m. Arrive back in Atkinson at approximately 5:30 p.m. The cost is $ 60 for Atkinson residents. Payment is needed by Oct. 30. Nonresidents may participate if there is space available, but for an additional $5.

Call or email Noriko at 362-5531 or email commrec@atkinson-nh.gov to register or for more information. All trips and events are nonrefundable unless the Recreation Commission cancels the activity.
