PLAISTOW — Summer recreation positions are available. Applications are at Town Hall or at plaistow.com.

Positions include summer director, assistant director, counselors and counselors in training. The program is housed outdoors at the PARC facility on Old County Road.

This is a minimum six-week commitment. They are looking for individuals with good leadership qualities, who enjoy children and have good decision-making skills.

The application deadline is Feb. 1 for the director and assistant director positions. Counselor applications must be received by Feb. 15 and counselor-in-training applications are due by April 1.

Free ice-fishing classes offered

CONCORD — Instructors from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s “Let’s Go Fishing” Program will lead a three-week Saturday program in Milford on Jan. 26 and Feb. 2 from 1 to 4 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The class is open to anyone, however, those 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Reserve a spot by contacting instructor Dale Riley, Tuesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 673-2987 or evenings at 673-4036.

The class is free, and registration is first-come, first-served. All equipment and materials will be provided. A fishing license is not required to participate.

Classes Jan. 26 and Feb. 2 will be at Riley Brothers Lumber at 39 Christmas Tree Lane in Milford, learning about ice fishing equipment, safety and practices, as well as some winter ecology of lakes and ponds. On Feb. 9, participants will head out to a local pond.
