Pharmacy technician indicted in drug fraud case

BRENTWOOD — A pharmacy technician has been indicted on 13 counts of stealing prescription painkillers.

Steven Detweiler, 28, of Manchester was recently indicted by a grand jury in Rockingham Superior Court on charges he falsified prescriptions.

He was arrested by Londonderry police this fall and released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail.

Detweiler was accused of stealing more than 1,000 tablets of hydrocodone from his employer over a period of several months.

Police would not identify the employer.

Detweiler’s registration as a pharmacy technician was suspended by the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy on Sept. 5.

If convicted, Detweiler faces three and half to seven years in state prison on each of the felony charges.

The case was investigated by the New Hampshire State Police Narcotics and Investigations Unit.
