Learn all about bobcats in Kingston

KINGSTON — Head to Kingston Library Tuesday and learn all about bobcats.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will present the program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

There are frequent bobcat sightings in Kingston.

Learn about their natural history, current management and tracking techniques.

Make a special Valentine

ATKINSON — Kimball Library hosts a “Create and Express” event for children in second through fifth grade on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Participants will make large Valentine hearts from crayon shavings and wax paper.

The event requires preregistration. Sign up at the library or call 362-5234.

Dog days have arrived in Danville

DANVILLE — It’s that time of year. The town clerk’s office has 2013 dog tags available now.

Dogs must be licensed by April 30.

Fees are $6.50 for a spayed or neutered dog, $9 for dogs that haven’t been neuter, and $3 for senior pet owners, 65 or older.

Staff takes on students in basketball

KINGSTON — The Sanborn Regional Middle School staff will challenge the school’s boys and girls basketball teams to a game Friday, Feb. 8.

The game begins at 6:30 p.m. in Swasey Gym. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students, and free for children under age age 5.

The event is sponsored by the Sanborn Middle School Boosters.

Refreshments will be sold, and there will be a 3-point shooting contest at halftime.

Men of St. Joseph meet on Feb. 9

WINDHAM – The Men of St. Joseph hold their monthly meeting Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Matthew’s Church, 2 Searles Road.

The group will convene at 7:15 a.m. for the Rosary and Mass, followed by breakfast in the Parish Center.

KINGSTON — Teens can learn how to make fortune cookies at the library Thursday, Feb. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m.
