---- — WILTON, N.H. (AP) — A jury has found a New Hampshire man guilty in the stabbing death of his girlfriend five years ago.
The jury deliberated for seven hours before convicting Benjamin Duling of Wilton of second-degree murder on Tuesday in the 2008 death of Shelly McGrade.
The jury rejected Duling’s defense that he acted in self-defense and decided that he knowingly and recklessly killed her by stabbing her in the back and neck in their home.
Timothy McGrade, the victim’s brother, told the Nashua Telegraph that the conviction is long overdue and something that the family has waited for a long time.
Duling and Shelly McGrade had two children together, who were 5 and 2, at the time of their mother’s death.
