---- — PELHAM — An OHRV driver who fled an accident scene Saturday morning faces charges of reckless operation and operating an OHRV on a roadway.
Pelham police were called to an accident at 11:39 Saturday morning, in the middle of the blizzard.
When officers arrived at Bush Hill Road, they found Russell Vigeant, 49, of Hudson — and his damaged pickup and plow.
Vigeant told police he was driving on the road when an OHRV came speeding around the corner and crossed in front of his full-size Chevrolet pickup with a snowplow.
Vigeant swerved off the road in an effort to avoid a collision, police said, but couldn’t.
The OHRV struck the truck and plow, damaging the fender.
The OHRV driver, Peter Hahn, 38, of Nashua, stopped and exchanged information with Vigeant, police said.
But he told Vigeant he didn’t want to be arrested and took off.
Police followed a trail of fluid leaking from the OHRV and found Hahn farther up Bush Hill Road. They said Hahn was trying to hide his Kawasaki 740 4x4 when they found him.
The OHRV had significant grille damage and was still leaking fluid when police located it.
Hahn was charged and is due to be arraigned in 10th Circuit Court in Salem on Feb. 25.
