DANVILLE — The town is now participating in the CodeRED emergency communication system, allowing local officials to quickly provide the community with vital information.
The system was launched in Danville on Friday, shortly before a major snowstorm hit the region, town emergency management director Shawn O’Neil said.
Residents were sent a message that directed them to the town website, TownofDanville.org, and invited to add contact numbers and inform others about the system, he said.
To be contacted in an emergency, all phone numbers, email and text addresses must be added to the system.
Residents are urged to log on to the town website and follow the CodeRED link at the top of the page. Anyone without Internet access may call the Board of Selectmen’s office at 382-8253, Ext. 3, Monday through Thursday, to add their information.
Street addresses and primary phone numbers are required.
Any questions or comments should be directed to the emergency management director at EMD@TownofDanville.org.
