Police arrest men sleeping at the pumps on drug charges

WINDHAM — Police arrested two men for drug possession Tuesday after the driver parked their car near gas pumps at Klemm's Mobil and fell asleep, police said.

Jason Lyons, 22, of Derry was charged with felony possession of oxycodone pills, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, police Capt. Mike Caron said.

Andrew Driscoll, 21, of Salisbury was charged with possession of oxycodone pills and driving while intoxicated, Caron said. Driscoll was believed to be intoxicated from a drug, police said.

The two men pulled into the station at the corner of Range Road and Route 111 at about 3 p.m. in an odd spot, parking between the pumps. Police responded to the scene; the two men were awake when they arrived.

Police seized a "couple hundred" oxycodone pills and are holding $7,000 in cash as evidence, Caron said. Police will take steps to seize the cash if the men are found guilty of deriving the money from illegal drug sales, police said.

Both men had pills in their possession. Driscoll, the driver, had no prescription for the drug, police said. Lyons had a prescription for pills, but was storing them in separate containers, a pill bottle and a plastic bag, which is against the law, Caron said.

They were released on personal recognizance and are scheduled for arraignment in Salem District Court on Oct. 18.

Also Tuesday, police arrested a Windham man for felony attempted burglary at the town transfer station off Route 111.

Todd Taylor, 52, of Windham was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment in Salem District Court on Oct. 18.

Police responded to an alarm at the station and found Taylor trying to pry open the rear door. He was taken into custody. Police said they found burglary tools in his possession.
