Laconia woman faces drug charges in Salem

SALEM — A Laconia woman faces drug charges after the vehicle she was riding in was stopped by police Monday.

Shannan Landry, 22, was arrested about 7 p.m. on two counts of possession of a controlled drug after acting "extremely irregularly" when the driver, who was not charged, was stopped for erratic operation, according to Salem police.

While being questioned, Landry said she felt sick from using drugs the night before, police said. Police said they also learned Landry was recently released from drug rehabilitation.

Officers found small quantities of heroin and marijuana in her possession. Landry was taken into custody without incident and later released on $1,000 personal recognizance pending her arraignment in Salem District Court.

She also faces trial in Belknap County on a previous heroin possession charge, police said.
