---- — HAMPSTEAD — Hampstead Pubic Library will host its annual book sale Monday through Saturday. There’s a pre-sale today for card-holders only from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The sale will be open to the general public next week during regular business hours.
Proceeds will be used to help the library acquire new materials.
Sky will light up in Plaistow tomorrow
PLAISTOW — The town’s annual fireworks show will be tomorrow at 7 p.m at Plaistow Area Recreation Complex.
The display was originally scheduled for Old Home Day June 29, but the weather caused a postponement.
Before the show, the Timberlane Community Band featuring Maestro Mainella will be performing.
The concession stand will be open serving hot dogs, popcorn and cold drinks and proceeds will support the Friends of Plaistow Recreation.
Plaistow Area Recreation Complex is located on Old County Road.
Mall in Salem offers back-to-school event
SALEM — The Simon Kidgits Club will host a back-to-school celebration for children and their parents Saturday at The Mall at Rockingham Park.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lord & Taylor Court on the second floor. There will be interactive activities for children and various offers for parents to help prepare for school.
There is no cost for Kidgits Club members. Nonmembers can sign up for $5 at Simon Guest Services or at the event. The celebration is also sponsored by Lawrence General Hospital and Small Smiles.

Make clothes and blankets for newborns
KINGSTON — Neighbors Helping Newborns will hold a work group meeting Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon at Kingston Congregational Church, 6 Church St.
Members will accept donations, packing layettes, machine decorating thermal baby blankets and other sewing tasks.
Bring knitting or crochet needles and help make blankets sweaters and hats. They need crocheted blankets,quilts and preemie clothes.
Children’s carnival is today in Kingston
KINGSTON — Kingston Children’s Center will host a children’s carnival today from 10 a.m. to noon at 12 Church St.
There will be games, a bouncy house and snacks.

KINGSTON — There’s a contra dance tomorrow from 8 to 11 p.m. at Kingston Town Hall, 163 Main St.
Tod Whittemore will call and music will be provided by Carol Bittenson and Roberta Sutter.
Admission is $8. the dance is for all experience levels. Bring soft-soled shoes for dancing.
