Hampstead Library Friends plan big auction

HAMPSTEAD — The Friends of the Hampstead Public Library Auction are gearing up for the auction on Friday, Nov. 15.

The Granite Rose will be the place to be for those who want to find a special holiday gift or perhaps some unusual stocking stuffers. Guests will also find helpful things such as the Estate Planning Package for two that includes wills, durable power of attorney and advance directives. Anyone who hasn’t made a will yet or need to update them, think about bidding for this package.

There are already a number of interesting paintings and prints. One of these is a print of Marshall Street in Boston featuring the oldest brick building still standing in the city, as well as the famed Union Oyster House. Another is a wood carving of a wreath, perfect for the holidays. All the artwork will be on display so guests can enter bids in the silent auction.

The live auction will offer a variety of themed baskets. The popular balloon pop returns with many more balloons. A balloon costs $10 and participants are guaranteed a prize of a bare minimum value of $15 or much more. Raffle opportunities feature both a 50/50 raffle and a $100 gift card. There will also be a few items of Boston related sports memorabilia up for bid.

Tickets for the auction are now on sale at the library and at TDBank on Main Street. Tickets are $35 each and include a full sit-down dinner featuring turkey and all the fixings and a free photo booth. The ticket price covers the cost of the site and the meal but does not represent any profit to the Friends. The proceeds realized from the auction itself all go to help support the library by enabling the Friends to purchase many things that fall outside the regular library budget.
