Kingston Library has a lot of fun planned

KINGSTON — Kingston Community Library invites students to come in Thursday, Oct. 3, after school for a fun-filled program about rocks, gems, and geology, presented by the Seacoast Science Center.

This program has activities that will teach children types of rocks, classifying rocks and how rocks are made. Each child attending will receive a free admission pass to the Seacoast Science Center, as well as a bookmark.

The event, which starts at 6:30 p.m., is recommended for children in Grades 1-5. Signup is required.

Join two frightful Halloween events in one on Friday, Oct. 25, at 4:30 p.m.

It’s the Halloween Party and Family Movie Night. Have your face painted by Kimberly Connell from the Painted Pineta. Trick-or-treat around the library with book characters. Make some fun Halloween crafts.

Bring food, take food at the Potluck Dinner. All followed by a screening of “ParaNorman,” rated PG, to start at 5:30 p.m.

Parents are encouraged to bring a spooky potluck dish. Contact Miss Sue at childrensprogram@kingston-library.org to sign up potluck dishes. All ages are welcome.

Join Master Kelly from Alpha Tae-Kwon-Do and Fitness for a lesson in self-defense on Saturday, Oct. 26, at noon.

Children will have a lesson in basic kicking, punching, stances and self-defense. Master Kelly and five of her students will demonstrate these techniques and all participants will have a go at breaking a board.

Bring a water bottle and wear loose clothes. This is for ages 6 to 12, and signup is required.

Story time fun continues with Book Babies, a story time for children ages birth to 36 months. This meets every Monday at 10:30 a.m. until Dec. 16. Preschool story meets on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. with a story and crafts.
