SALEM — Selectmen are seeking four residents to serve on the town’s Recreation Advisory Committee.
Members would serve until November 2016. Anyone interested in being on the committee must submit an application to the town manager’s office before 5 p.m. tomorrow.
Applications are available at Town Hall, 33 Geremonty Drive, or on the town website, townofsalem.org.
Selectmen will interview candidates Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Benefit planned for Family Promise
Tickets are on sale through Oct. 28 for an upcoming benefit for Family Promise of Greater Rockingham County. The group aids homeless families.
No tickets will be sold at the door. They must be purchased in advance.
The event is Nov. 9 at Atkinson Country Club.

WINDHAM — More than 100 vendors are expected for the fourth annual Windham High School Craft Fair on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event benefits theater and music programs.
There is a $2 entrance fee for adults.

New charter school hosts open house
DERRY — Granite State Arts Academy, a charter high school to open in September 2014, will hold an open house on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. at its tentative location at 16 Route 111, Building 4.
The public, interested families, community leaders, artists, educators, business professionals and volunteers are invited to attend to learn more about the school and ask questions. Children are welcome. The program will consist of an informal presentation and tour of the facility. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
The arts-based school will serve grades 9-12 and offer rigorous core academics, as well as intensive studies in four areas of art: dance, music (including voice), theater, and visual arts. Granite State Arts Academy plans to open with all four grades, capping enrollment at 40 pupils per grade.

Chicken pot pie on the menu
SALEM — The 2014 Honduran Mission team will be sponsoring a Chicken Pot Pie supper on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Mary Queen of Peace Hall, 200 Lawrence Road, to help raise money for the next trip in February.
Here is the full menu: Chicken pie, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls and dessert. There will be homemade apple pie and cobbler for dessert. Tickets will be sold at the door the night of the supper.
