Two arrested in Salem after Hooksett shooting

SALEM — Two people were arrested on Interstate 93 early this morning following a shooting at a Hooksett convenience store.

Orlando Quintana of Lynn, Mass., and Ana Koufos, 29, of Revere, Mass., were taken into custody shortly before 2:30 a.m., according to Salem Deputy police Chief Shawn Patten.

Quintana originally gave police false information as to his identity, Patten said.

The two were wanted in connection with a shooting about 1:45 a.m. at the Circle K convenience store off Interstate 93 in Hooksett, Patten said.

Salem police were told by Hooksett police that an unidentified person had been shot in the chest and to look for a silver Honda minivan with Massachusetts license plates.

Salem police stopped the minivan as it sped south near Exit 1, Patten said. Both were arrested without incident and turned over to Hooksett police, he said.

The van, driven by Koufos, did not have any headlights on, Patten said. Koufos was charged with reckless operation and operating after suspension. he said.

Fowler was not charged by Salem police but faces charges in Hooksett, Patten said.

No further details on the shooting victim were available.
