DERRY — Police are looking for a man who robbed Rite Aid Pharmacy yesterday, fleeing with prescription drugs.
The robbery at 52 Rockingham Road occurred shortly before 11 a.m., according to Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas.
The man entered the store and went straight to the pharmacy, handing an employee a note that demanded Percocet, a painkiller, he said.
The robber fled the store with an undisclosed number of pills, Thomas said. A surveillance camera recorded the suspect as he approached the pharmacy technician. He was wearing a dark blue or black hooded jacket and a dark baseball hat.
Rite Aid was closed for a while as police investigated the robbery, according to an employee.
The employee declined to comment further, referring all calls to Rite Aid’s corporate spokeswoman. She could not be reached for comment yesterday afternoon.
No further details were available from police, including whether the pharmacy technician was threatened.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Derry police at 603-432-6111.
