ATKINSON — Parents, Kimball Library will entertain children for the next three Saturdays while you shop or wrap presents.

The popular “Holiday Drop ‘n Shop” events start Saturday and continue Dec. 8 and 15. from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Saturday.

Children age 6 and older will watch a movie and participate in a holiday craft while their parents get a couple of hours off for holiday chores.

Children younger than 6 can join in, but only if there is an adult caretaker in the building.

The fun starts with a movie, followed by a craft, then books and games. Register in advance to make sure there are enough craft supplies.

This week, Santa’s elves will help children make a snowman decoration out of sheet music. The crafts will be displayed at the library in advance of the event.

The movie this week is “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland,” narrated by Andy Griffith. In the movie, children decide to make a wife for Frosty, but Jack Frost isn’t happy about the idea and tries to spoil the fun. The movie will run for about 25 minutes.
