Police investigate a motorcyle crash in Derry that sent the driver to a Boston hospital with serious injuries yesterday.

DERRY — A motorcyclist was flown by helicopter to a Boston hospital for treatment of serious injuries suffered in a crash yesterday afternoon.

Paul Mileski, 60, was taken by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center and then transferred to Boston Medical Center, police and fire officials said. His address and medical condition were not available last night.

The accident happened at 3 p.m. when the motorcycle and a van collided at the intersection of Maple Street and Ash Street Extension, according to Derry fire Capt. Scott Haggart.

Derry police Sgt. John Cooney said the crash's cause is unknown.

"It's still under investigation," he said.

The van driver's name was not available.
