Ocasio’s True Martial Arts is selling tickets to enter a drawing to win two tickets to see the Boston Red Sox play the Cleveland Indians on Friday, May 24 at 7:10 p.m.
The drawing will be held Friday. Tickets are for Section 42, Row 20, seats 5 and 6. Tickets are $1 each or a book of six for $5. All proceeds from this drawing benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Haverhill.

Garden party held Saturday
GROVELAND — James Episcopal Church in Groveland will host a Garden Party and Tea on Saturday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. inside in the Parish Hall at 119 Washington St.
Master gardener Dugie Russell of North Beverly will entertain and educate with his award-winning slide presentation about raised gardens. All are welcome. Russell creates one-of-a-kind bird “estates” created from recycled materials.
He is currently working on a new show about birds of the Northeast. This event will feature tea, homemade goodies, and celebration of God’s abundance. No charge but please RSVP to 978-373-1270.
Annual Garden Club sale planned
The Haverhill Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to sell out on the Bradford Common.
Plants available for purchase include annuals and perennials from member’s gardens. The event will include raffles for garden related items as well as a junior gardening demonstration on how to create a terrarium.
Members of the garden club will be available to answer your gardening questions.
Profits from this sale help support the club’s local efforts including planting flowers around the Welcome to Haverhill signs, in front of the Citizens Center, around the Hannah Duston monument in GAR Park and at City Hall.
Armenian food festival is May 18
The Women’s Guild at Hye Pointe Armenian Church in Haverhill will hold its annual food festival on Saturday, May 18 from noon to 7 p.m. in the church hall, (St. Gregory the Illuminator) 110 Main St.
The festival will feature LuLu kebab, an Armenian favorite. Chicken kebabs and kheyma will be served all day.
Paklava, cream and nut khadayif, choreg, spinach pie, string cheese and many other specialty items will be available to tempt your palate.
All proceeds will go toward the building of the church’s new parish in Bradford.
Talk on elder law planned for May 16
Attorney Robert Ford will lead a discussion on elder law on Thursday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.
