SALEM — Police say Amanda L. Warren, 27, of Derry tried to hit a police cruiser head on yesterday evening in an attempt to elude police.

She also tried to hit two officers standing outside their cruisers, police said.

It started at 6:17 p.m. on Cluff Road when an officer observed Warren driving a 2004 Saturn Ion recklessly,

The officer tried to stop her, but she refused, police said.

She traveled down several streets before trying to drive head on into a cruiser on Lawrence Road, according to police.

Police used stop sticks on Lake Street in an effort to stop Warren. Police said she hit those stop sticks while trying to hit two officers outside their cruisers.

Warren then continued to drive into Windham and Derry, finally turning on to a dead-end road in Windham, where she was arrested after a brief struggle, police said.

Warren faces three felony charges of reckless conduct, resisting arrest, reckless operation, operating after suspension and disobeying a police officer.

She refused the services of a bail commissioner and was held overnight in the county jail.

Warren is scheduled to be arraigned today in 10th Circuit Court in Salem.
