Teens, celebrate 'Catching Fire' tonight

HAMPSTEAD — Middle and high school students can go to Hampstead Public Library at 6:30 p.m. today to attend a “Catching Fire” movie release party.

Everyone who volunteers as a “tribute” is eligible to win two free movie passes.

Tributes will participate in various training stations — knot-tying, cake decorating, archery.

Answer questions about the book and earn gifts. Dress as your favorite character if you wish.

Kingston church offers Thanksgiving meal

KINGSTON — Make a reservation by Friday for First Congregational Church’s 26th annual Senior Thanksgiving Dinner at 6 Church St.

Arrive anytime after noon; dinner will be served at 1 p.m.

This meal is free of charge to all members of the community. Call Sue Philips at 642-7312 or email sjcp61@ gmail.com to make a reservaiton.

Try speed networking today

PLAISTOW — The Plaistow Area Commerce Exchange presents its second annual Speed Networking Event today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Atkinson Country Club.

PLAISTOW — Children ages 3 to 5 are invited to Slumber Storytime tomorrow from 6 to 6:45 p.m at Plaistow Public Library.

Children can wear pajamas and bring along a pillow, blanket and stuffed animal.

They will enjoy stories, rhymes, music and finger play.

Learn to make a boxwood tree

ATKINSON — Sign up soon for a boxwood tree workshop at Kimball Library Dec. 3. Registration is limited to 20 people.

The event, from 6 to 8 p.m., will teach participants how to make an elegant boxwood tree.

The cost is $30, which must be paid in advance.

Danville, get ready to light up

DANVILLE — The Danville town tree lighting is set for Saturday at 4:15 p.m., across from Mayo’s.

Enjoy hot chocolate while waiting for Santa to arrive to light the tree.

After, go across the street to the Community Center, visit with Santa and enjoy some light refreshments.

KINGSTON — Kingston Memorial Post 1088 will offer information abut benefits for widows of veterans Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

HAMPSTEAD — Build, build, build with Legos, newspaper, cardboard and wooden sticks at Hampstead Public Library Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.

The library will supply the materials and challenging tasks during “If You Come ... We Will Build It.”

Snacks will be available. No signup is required, just creativity and imagination.
