SANDOWN - When Joni Desantis underwent treatment for recurring gallbladder pain last fall, she had no reason to suspect her doctor would stumble upon a tumor that would later be diagnosed as pancreatic cancer.

The 45-year-old single mother of two from Sandown was a part-time school bus driver for Laidlaw at the time but had to quit her job because her weekly chemotherapy sessions began to take a toll on her physically. Read this article in full with a
