CONCORD (AP) - A local ambulance company has agreed to pay $958,000 to resolve allegations it submitted improper Medicare and Medicaid claims.
State and federal law enforcement officials said yesterday that Rockingham Regional Ambulance agreed to pay $882,000 to the federal government and $76,000 to the state.
The ambulance service was accused of filing claims for emergency advanced life support services when the services weren't appropriate or documented. The company also submitted claims for emergency basic life support when the provided services were in non-emergency situations.
Rockingham Regional Ambulance provides ambulance services to transport patients to hospital emergency rooms and other locations throughout the state. Its parent corporations include Covenant Health Systems, Inc., St. Joseph Hospital of Nashua and St. Joseph Hospital Corporate Services, Inc.
