North Andover — Howard L. Bardsley, 90, formerly of Methuen, died on Monday December 2, 2013, at Prescott House, North Andover. He was born and raised in Methuen, and was a 1941 graduate of Edward F. Searles High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during WW II. Howard worked as an insurance agent at Metropolitan Insurance Co. in North Andover, before his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Lawrence, and served as senior warden on the church vestry. He was a member of John Hancock Lodge, AF&AM, Methuen, as well as being a member of several Masonic affiliations.
He was the husband of the late Marjorie I. (Coleman) Bardsley. He leaves his son, Raymond H. and his wife, Penny Bardsley; his daughters, Patricia A. and her husband, David R. Beckwith, and Nancy I. and her husband, William J. Shaheen. He is survived by his grandchildren, Victoria Bardsley Nixon and Aaron Bardsley, Andrew Beckwith, Abigail Beckwith, Patel and Sarah Beckwith Cox, and Lindsay K. Shaheen and William A. Shaheen; great-grandchildren Jacob, Gabriel and Abigail Joy Beckwith, Katherine Selma Nixon, and Emma Grace Patel; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his great grandson, Jonathan Rexford Beckwith.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Friday, December 6, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.
