LAWRENCE | Michael Victor Arcidiacono (aka Grumpy), 68, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was educated in Lawrence schools and a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1957.
Mr. Arcidiacono loved helping people and playing music and his faith in God was reflected in his life. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
He was a member of the Pontiac Drum & Bugle Corp. Michael played the upright bass for many years with numerous bands in the Merrimack Valley area. He also traveled to California where he played with many famous musicians and performers.
Mr. Arcidiacono is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen T. (Ferreira) Arcidiacono; sons, Michael J. of Lawrence and the late Gerard J. Arcidiacono; two daughters, Cheryl and fiancee Patrick Murphy and Virginia Arcidiacono, both of Lawrence and Scott Theleman; his brother, Joseph J. and his wife Hildegard of Methuen; and a sister, Rose Proia of Lawrence and the late Catherine Connolly. He was the son of the late Michael and Virginia (Majkut) Arcidiacono, formerly of Lawrence. Michael was the proud grandfather of two granddaughters, Cleopatra and her sister Gianna; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen followed by a Mass of Christian burial on Monday, June 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Lawrence with burial to follow at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Family and friends attending funeral service should arrive at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. on Monday morning.
