Lawrence — Maurice P. Licciardi, 102, of Lawrence died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Mary Immaculate Nursing Center, Lawrence. Mr. Licciardi was born, raised and educated in Lawrence and had lived in Lawrence all of his life. Before retirement, he worked as a painter in The Greater Lawrence area. Maurice was an avid Red Sox fan and during the 1930s, he played baseball and football in the local city leagues. During 1 season, he was captain of 3 separate teams of baseball, football and basketball. He enjoyed the beach and especially loved swimming.
His family members include his son, Michael A. and his wife, Linda Licciardi of Londonderry, N.H., and his daughter, Maurine and her husband, Arnold Gabrielle of Norwell, Mass. He also leaves his sister, Rita Wronkowski of Peabody, Mass., and 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Paula Zanni and also predeceased by his seven brothers and sisters.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may visit on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, N.H. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
