Methuen — Mrs. Rita P. (Baggetta) Spinelli, 87, of Methuen, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 3, 1925 in Lawrence to the late Nicola and Anna (Marino) Baggetta. Rita was educated in the local schools and attended Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Rosary Church, where she was also a member of the Saint Rita's Sodality.
Rita worked for 25 years at her family's business, Rosebud Flowers in Lawrence. She later worked at AT&T Technologies in North Andover.
According to her family, she was a great cook and had a passion for it. Rita always made sure everyone had something to eat. She enjoyed time spent with her family at the beach, and during her quiet time her other passion would be crocheting. She would crochet something for everyone.
The wife of the late Biagio "Gene" A. Spinelli, she is survived by her children: son Nick M. Spinelli and his wife Teri of Haverhill; daughters Bernie M. Troncoso of Salem, N.H., and Gina A. Spinelli of St. Johnsbury, Vt.
She was Nonnie to Elisa, Shayna, Anthony and Emily. She is survived by her brother, Robert and his wife Lee Baggetta of Delaware; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She was a sister to the late Joseph Baggetta and Margaret V. "Peggy" Tomaselli.
