Andover, MA — Francis A. Pallazola, 81, of Andover, Mass., formerly of Gloucester, Mass., passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, at the Lawrence General Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born in Gloucester on March 24, 1932, and was the son of the late Vincenzo and Grazia (Ciaramitaro) Palazzolo.
Frank attended Gloucester schools. He started fishing at a young age with his father and continued to fish out of Gloucester for many years. He had a love of the ocean and water.
Frank served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He loved traveling, dancing and going to the beach, but most of all he enjoyed everything about food and going to good restaurants. One might say he was a restaurant connoisseur.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Grace Picanso and her husband, Victor, of Lowell, Mass., Lisa Pallazola and her husband, Steven Jones of Methuen, Mass., and Jennifer Pallazola of Miami, Fla.; grandchildren, Kaneesha Nobrega, Kelsi Nobrega, Michael Picanso, Nicholas Pallazola, Alonzo Pallazola, Aiden Jones, Mylee Jones, Anthony Pallazola, Dion Rivera, and Savannah Rivera; a great-grandson, Ayivan Romero; his brother, Baptiste “Busty” Pallazola; his sister, Grace Straccia; his former spouse and best friend, Laura Pallazola; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his precious baby boy; his sister, Antonina Finazzo; and sister-in-law, Angie Pallazola.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be no funeral services and the burial will be private. Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, will be held on Thursday, January 2, from 2 to 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to a charity of one’s choice.
