Windham, New Hampshire — Jane (Firth) McCarthy, 75, of Windham NH, died on September 1st, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.
Daughter of Harry and Nellie Firth, she was born in Methuen, MA, and graduated from Tenney High School in 1954. She was employed by Dr. Joseph Sabbagh and Dr. John Batal as a medical secretary. She was a resident of Salem NH for many years, but most recently lived in Windham NH.
Known as "Grammy Mack" to most, Jane enjoyed dancing, along with theater and films. She was involved in both the NH and NY "Miss Teen" pageants, which she looked forward to attending every year. Jane also held a passion for travel, and spent her retirement traveling the east coast year round with her husband in their mobile home. Most will remember Jane for her sense of humor, and how she always enjoyed joking and laughing with people. She had a love for life, and loved all who were a part of hers.
The widow of Thomas McCarthy Jr who died in 2001, she is survived by a loving family, including daughter-in-law Donna McCarthy, grandsons Bryan McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy, and Mark McCarthy along with his fiancé Robyn Gaw. She is also survived by her son Michael McCarthy, as well as many close friends and family members.
ARRANGEMENTS: All are invited to celebrate Jane's life on Tuesday, September 11th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA.
