Haverhill — Triatafelia “Rosie” (Volis) Skrivanos, 77, of Haverhill, died Wednesday morning, March 5, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
She was born in Sukea, Laconia, Greece on September 14, 1936, daughter of the late Theodore and Anastasia (Stapas) Volis. She was educated in Greece and moved to Montreal in 1963, where she married her husband, Antonios K. Skrivanos in 1964. Mrs. Skrivanos moved to Haverhill in 1969, and alongside her husband she was the co-owner and operator of Apollo’s Diner on Washington St. in Haverhill for 18 years and later Spartacus restaurant on Main St. in Haverhill for 17 years.
She was a member of the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill and its Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed tailoring, knitting and sewing.
Besides her husband of 49 years, she is survived by her three sons, Konstantino A. “Konse” and his wife, Lorna, of North Andover, Theodore A. and George A., both of Haverhill; brother, Baslios Volis of Montreal; sister, Panagiota Exarhakos of Athens, Greece; two grandchildren, Victoria R. and Nikolas A. as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria Kritikos.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Service on Monday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St., Haverhill. Interment will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Calling hours at the H.L.
