Lawrence — After living a long and blessed life, Evelyn D. Cecil, 89, of Lawrence, Mass., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Va.
Mrs. Cecil was born, raised and educated in Lawrence, Mass., and has lived there all of her life. Evelyn worked at Raytheon Company, Andover, Mass., until she retired. She was a long standing member of Calvary Baptist Church, Haverhill, Mass. She was a Daughter of Tri Valley Temple, Order of The Elks, as well as a member of The Order of The Eastern Star.
The widow of Lloyd Cecil, her family members include her daughter, Loyce and husband, General Parker, III, of Newport News, Va.; along with 2 sisters, Helen Smith and Catherine Mays. Evelyn was well loved by many and leaves behind her 10 grandchildren, Areem Chambers, Torri Craig, Derek Cecil, Dane Cecil, Brianne Cecil, Denise Joseph, Paul Davis, Todd Chambers, Natasha Parker and Tisha Chambers as well as 13 great-grandchildren and many friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be on held on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, 13 Ashland St., Haverhill, MA 01830. www.calvarybaptist-haverhill.org. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon with funeral services promptly at noon. The repast will immediately follow the funeral at the same location.
