Stuarts Draft, Virginia — James E. Nunley, 82, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia formerly of Methuen, MA passed away Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Avante of Waynesboro Nursing Facility. James was born in Charleston West Virginia, and was educated in Massillon, Ohio. Jim was the widow of Mary (Rice) Nunley who died in 1997.
James joined the United States Air Force, shortly after WWII, served during the Korean War and later in Vietnam where he received several Air Medals for action during combat before retiring from the Air Force after 30 years of service as a highly decorated Chief Master Sergeant. He later worked for the Dept of the Air Force as a Program Manager working on communications systems. Jim was well known for his pool skills and you would find him always ready for a few games.
Jim is survived by his children sons Randy Nunley and his wife Diane of Atkinson, NH, John Nunley of Charlottesville, VI, Robert Nunley of Stuarts Draft, VI, Michael Nunley of Colorado Springs, CO, his daughters Sandra Reed of Colorado Springs, CO, Carol Brown and her husband Jeff of San Diego, CA. He also leaves 7 Grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends will be received at visiting hours on Tuesday November 13th from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm with a Service to follow at 1:00pm at Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen, MA. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery Lawrence, MA.
