Louis F. "Bucky" Desell, 82

Pelham, N.H. — Louis F. “Bucky” Desell, 82, of Pelham, N.H., died Saturday morning, November 10, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Theresa P. (Dube) Desell with whom he celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on October 25 of this year.

Born in Lawrence, the son of the late Frederick and the late Minnie (Warren) Desell, he served in the U.S. Army during peacetime.

Before retiring, he was employed as an oil truck driver with Cross Coal Company in Lawrence, for over 30 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25 in Boston.

He was a lifetime member of the Lawrence Lodge of Elks BPOE #65 and was a member of the Color Guard with the American Legion Post 122 and the VFW Post 8349 both in Methuen. He was also a member of the Pelham Council on Aging. He and his wife were seasonal campers at Cascade Campground in Loudon, NH for 25 years.

Bucky was kind, loving, loyal, generous, patriotic, funny and a “happy-go-lucky” man. He was proud of his family and loved people. He especially loved camping and making children happy. Over the years he provided many children in the family and at camp with refurbished bicycles, for some it was the first bike of their very own. Helping and giving things to others gave him the greatest pleasure and happiness.

Besides his wife, Theresa, Mr. Desell, he is survived by four sons, Louis G. Desell of Methuen, Daniel Desell of Maine, Paul Slauter and wife Debra of Lawrence, John Slauter and wife Cheri of Lawrence; five daughters, Kathy and husband Paul LeBlanc of Derry, N.H., Joyce and husband Peter Seigler of Gilford, N.H., Judy and husband Norm Royce of Pelham, N.H., Diana and husband Eugene Casey of Methuen, and Denise and husband Al Farris of Lawrence; his sister ,Corrine Dube of Methuen, and brother, Albert “Wally” Desell of Lawrence. He was loved and cherished by 27 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Desell was predeceased by his son, David Desell; sisters, Dora Robichaud and Helen Grenier; brothers, George “Tootie”, Raymond “Peanie”, Samuel, Robert “Buddy” Desell, Thomas Boyle, and his twin brother shortly after birth.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call all at the Pelham Funeral Home, 11 Nashua Rd, Pelham from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral and Committal Services will be held privately.
