Joanna DeRoche, 82


Lawrence — Joanna “Joan” (Lomastro) DeRoche, 82, of Lawrence formerly of Methuen passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Mary Immaculate Nursing & Restorative Center Lawrence. Joan was born in Lawrence was the daughter of the late Vincenzo (James) and Concetta (Conzano) Lomastro. Joan was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1948.

Joan worked for 30 years at Western Electric, and AT&T before she retired to enjoy many trips to Foxwoods with family and friends, she was the life of any family party and was always the last to leave. She was a member of the Pioneer’s workers of America and the Communication Workers of America. Joan also enjoyed her time at the Sons of Italy in Haverhill and loved bowling, and playing poker.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Sheila D. DeRoche, of Methuen, her sister Concetta “Tina” Borelli, of Lawrence, her sister-in-law Angelina Lomastro, of Pelham, N.H., and several nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her brother Anthony Lomastro, sisters Viola Hassey, Vincenza “Vee” Kowalewski, Dora Laurenza, and Mary Cummings.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends will be received at visiting hours on Monday, April 15, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral services will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery Lawrence.
