Fedhaven, FL — Ruth E. Richardson of Fedhaven, Fla., went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Lake Wales Medical Center.
She was born September 21, 1930, in Harmony Township, N.J., to the late Roy H. and Nellie M. Miller and she moved to Florida from Lawrence, Mass,m in 1994. After retiring as a teacher, she worked as a lunch room aide in Massachusetts.
She faithfully served the Lord Jesus for many years in various ministries. She loved children and taught Sunday School, Children’s Church, and AWANA in Massachusetts. She was a member and treasurer of the Community Baptist Church in Fedhaven, Fla., and she also attended Trinity Baptist Church where she was involved with the Keenagers. She enjoyed genealogy, puzzles and reading. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Varnum B. Richardson; daughters, Wendi Winkler and her husband, David of Georgia, Cheryl Reichl and her husband, Bill of Pennsylvania, Leeann Long and her husband, Doug of Pennsylvania, Donna Ouellette and her husband, Mike of Maine, and Cathy Rogers and her husband, Jeff of Florida; son, David Richardson and his wife, Susan of New Hampshire; brother, Richard Miller of Pennsylvania; sister, Lois Pfeffer of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the funeral service at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Trinity Baptist Church of Lake Wales with Rev. Larry Wallace officiating and Rev. Horace Howell assisting. Interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
