Janice (Arscott) Buckley, 68


Bradford, MA — Janice A. (Arscott) Buckley, 68, of Bradford, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Tuesday April 23, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, after a courageous 14 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Haverhill on May 5, 1944, daughter of the late James and Eleanor (Moynihan) Arscott.

Janice graduated St. James High School in Haverhill, Mass., Class of 1962. She started her career at Western Electric before deciding to stay at home to raise her three children. Taking care of her home and her family were the most precious things in her life. During her time at home raising her children, she kept the books for the family business, E.A. Buckley Trucking. Once her children were older, she went back to work at Marble Motors, in Haverhill, before retiring to enjoy time with her beloved grandchildren.

Janice spent many years enjoying the ocean and the people at her favorite spot, Seabrook Beach. She was also a fan of NASCAR and had attended the Daytona 500. She enjoyed several family trips to Disney World. She spent most of her weekends at her children’s and later her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and she loved to shop. Janice was a member of Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford.

She is survived by her loving husband, friend and companion of 45 years Edwin A. Buckley, Jr.; her three children, Julie A. and her husband, Michael Sargent, James E. Buckley and his wife, Kara, all of Bradford, and Jodi L. and her husband, Thomas Bedard, of Atkinson, N.H.; her sister, Linda Arscott, of Haverhill; grandchildren, Mikayla and Brendan Sargent, Meghan and Riley Buckley, Andrew, Timothy and Kaitlyn Bedard; many dear cousins; her close cherished friends, Casey and Carol, and life time of wonderful friendships.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Saturday April 27, at 9 a.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 S. Main Street, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Hearts Church, S. Main Street, Bradford. Calling hours at the H.L.
