Salisbury — Doris Marguerite Vandenbulcke, 87, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital after complications from surgery.
She was born on February 28, 1925 in Lawrence, daughter of Marie and Henry Donze. Married to Emile Vandenbulcke on June 18, 1950 where shortly thereafter they made their home at 90 Arlington Street, Dracut for thirty years.
Doris graduated from Essex Aggie in clothing and worked for Woolworth’s and JP Stevens. Doris and Emile operated Vandy Stamp Co. from the 1960’s to the present, continuing their business after her husband's passing. Doris enjoyed working at the Traveling Chef stand in Downtown Newburyport during the many festivals since the 1980’s.
She is survived by her son, Bob and his wife Bobbi Vandenbulcke; her daughter, Janet Hofmann and Russell Heuer; grandchildren, Erica and her husband Pat Reddy, Andre Vandenbulcke and Lydia Mills, Cliff Vandenbulcke, and Jesse Hofmann; great-grandchildren, Bjorn Richard, Kaiden Raymond, Mikah Robert, and Xander Emile Vandenbulcke. Doris is predeceased by her husband, Emile Vandenbulcke, January 1997, and her Sister Dorothy Donze, June 1978.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 9 a.m. in the Star of the Sea Church, Beach Rd., Salisbury. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Twomey LeBlanc and Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport.
