Cruz Maria Romero Belliard

Lawrence, MA — Cruz Maria Romero Belliard, aged 89, died peacefully on October 3, 2012 at home in her apartment at 64 Bernard Ave., Lawrence, MA, after a brief struggle with cancer. Cruz Maria was born on May 3, 1923, in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic, the daughter of Gonzalez Valdez and Ana Romero.

Cruz Maria thoroughly enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. She grew up in a large family and was a devout Catholic. In the Dominican Republic she was a business woman and a homemaker. She and Ramon Addala raised six children: Julia Addala, Julia Casado, Ramon Romero, Luz Martinez, Felipe Romero and Pedro Romero.

Cruz Maria was dedicated to her family and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their activities. She had a personal and loving relationship with each and every one of her family members. She was a great, great grandmother and kept picture albums that included family members encompassing all five generations.

Cruz Maria is survived by her sister Maria of Dominican Republic, brother Juan of New York, her husband Melquiade of Lawrence; sons, Ramon, Felipe and Pedro of Lawrence; daughters, Julia Mercedes, Julia Isabel of Lawrence and Luz of Puerto Rico, 37 grandchildren, approximately 97 great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren, other relatives and close friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at FARRAH FUNERAL HOME, 133 Lawrence St., Lawrence, MA 01841. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s of the Assumption, Lawrence, MA 01841; Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Lawrence, MA.
