Helen "Patti" (Pilch) Dixon, 75


Bedford, formerly of Lawrence — Helen “Patti” (Pilch) Dixon, 75, of Bedford, formerly of Lawrence, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 22, 2013.

Beloved wife of Joseph F. Dixon. Cherished mother of three children, Kelly Knight of Woburn, Kim Keane of N. Attleboro, and Joseph Dixon III of Danvers. Devoted “Nanu” of seven grandchildren, David, Christopher, and Kathryn of Woburn; James and Michael of N. Attleboro; and Gretchen and Finian of Danvers.

She graduated Salutatorian from St. Patrick’s in Lawrence in 1954, and traveled the world with her husband of 54 years, a retired USAF officer, and her children. Her life was devoted to being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and she worked for a time as a pre-school teacher’s aide on Hanscom AFB, and as a permanent part-time clerk at MetLife.

Settling in Bedford, she is an adored sister of Geraldine DiMattia of Melrose; Charlotte Gallagher, and Mary Collins of Salem, N.H.; Peter Pilch of Washington; the late Charlie Pilch of Lawrence; and sister-in-law, Irene Dixon of Lawrence. She is the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Mary Evelyn (Waldron) Pilch of Lawrence. She is also survived by many esteemed nieces and nephews.
