formerly of Haverhill — Natalie Pauline (Emerson) Gagnon, 95, formerly of Haverhill, passed away on Friday evening, December 13, at her daughter’s home.
She was born in Haverhill on September 19, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Frederick G. and Rachel P. (Caswell) Emerson.
Natalie was a graduate of Haverhill High School, playing the cello in the school orchestra, and she later graduated from Burdett College in 1938. She was employed at Bemis Bag Co., Lee Craft, Samuel Roberts, Kenoza Manor Nursing Home, and lastly, at Keezer, from which she retired.
Natalie was a talented seamstress, who could make anything with her needle, including clothing for her family, afghans and quilts.
She was the wife of the late Phillip Joseph Gagnon, who died in 1996, mother of the late Geraldine A. Miele and last of eight siblings. Her survivors include her three sons, Phillip J. Gagnon Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Greene, N.Y., William E.J. Gagnon and his wife, Constance, of Haverhill, and Jeremiah L. Gagnon and his wife, Mary, of Elkview, W.Va.; seven daughters, Maralla R. and her husband, F. Raymond Blake of Groton, N.H., Cynthia M. and her husband, Daniel DeRoche of Ward Hill, Twila A. Gagnon of Kingston, N.H., Rachel G. and her husband, Armand Lanseigne of Plaistow, N.H., Eleanor L. and her husband, Kenneth Clarke of Hampstead, N.H., and Izora E. and her husband, Paul Valihura of Reading, Mass.; son-in-law, Dennis Miele of Methuen; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 17, at 10 a.m., at St. Luke the Evangelist Church/Holy Angels Church, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow. Spring interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Haverhill. Calling hours will be on Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer Street, Haverhill.
