Methuen — Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Zaccardi) O’Rourke, 80, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Nevins Nursing Center, surround by her loving
family. Betty was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (Caruso) Zaccardi. Betty was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1953.
Betty worked at Merrimack Co-Operative Bank in Lawrence, and in later years, at Russem's Clothing Store.
Betty’s love, kind heart, generosity, and strength were an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, John J. O’Rourke of Methuen; her two children, Marie A. Vitale of Bedford, N.H., and John M. O’Rourke of Ogunquit, Maine; one granddaughter, Melinda T. O’Rourke of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Alexander “Al” Zaccardi.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Monday, December 16, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her Mass of Christian burial will take place at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, December 17, at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Lawrence.
