Florence L. Sestini, 94


Methuen — Florence L. (Gartley) Sestini, 94, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of Guy and Emily (Simpson) Gartley. For many years, Florence was employed with the Methuen School System and was the director of the school lunch program, and for 34 years she was the president of the Methuen Little League.

Florence was an avid skier, enjoyed baking as a pastry chef, but most important to her was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and family.

The widow of John J. Sestini, Florence is survived by her son, Donald and his wife, Janice Sestini of Methuen; grandchildren, Jill Sestini of Maine, Donald J. and David J. Sestini, both of Methuen; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Isabella, Anthony, Ava, Miah, and Nathanial; one sister-in-law, Maria Regan of California.

Florence was the mother of the late Jackie Sestini.

ARRANGEMENTS: Memorials may be made to the Methuen Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 2005, Methuen, MA 01844, in Memory of Florence L. Sestini. Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Thursday, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral services will be Friday, at 11:00a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, Mass.
