Ivan J. Richard, 93


Lawrence — Ivan J. Richard, 93, passed away on December 29, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Exeter, .H., on December 2, 1920, and was the son of Ralph and Genevieve (Gaudet) Richard.

Ivan served in the Army as a Corporal under General Patton during WW II. During his service to his country, he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Victory Medal.

Ivan retired from Raytheon Corporation in Andover, and spent his retirement with his wife, Angie, enjoying many short excursions. He was a member of St. Alfio Society, The Arlington Club and the VFW.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Merrimack Valley Hospice, Bring Care Home and Elder Services of Lawrence for the kindness and care they showed to Ivan and his family in his last days.

Ivan leaves behind his wife, Angelina (Sapienza) Richard, whom he married 44 years ago on December 27; and his daughter, Sharon Hooper of St. Cloud, Fla.; his brother, Edward Richard and his wife, Judy, of Middleton, N.H.; his sisters, Jeanette McDonnell of Exeter, N.H., and Mae Cutler of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his sisters-in-law, Dorothy “Pat” Richard, Ann Riccio, Sarah Gosselin and her husband, Arthur, Sandra Keefe and Larry Underhill; his granddaughters, Lauren Breed, Lynn Pesci and her fiancé William Worthen, and Lisa Rochon and her husband, Marc. He also leaves thre great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gerard, Ralph Jr., Henry, Elmer, and Raymond.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 1, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Thursday, January 2, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church,35 Essex St., Lawrence. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
