Plaistow, NH — John F. Butruccio Sr., 75, of Plaistow, formerly of Haverhill, died on Sunday, January 5, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late, Vito and Mary (Mascaro) Butruccio. He attended Haverhill Public Schools and Haverhill High School. He was a proud member of the Kingston VFW 1088.
Mr. Butruccio began his career in the local shoe industry, and he then owned and operated his business, Ultra Clean of Haverhill, a contracted cleaning business. He then became the superintendent of 1 Water Street Apartments for 15 years, retiring in 2000.
He leaves a son, John Butruccio Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Fremont, N.H.; two daughters, Lisa S. Butruccio, of Plaistow, and Robin L. Butruccio and her significant other, Teddy Gagaris of Kingston, N.H.; five grandchildren, William “B.J.” Maurier Jr., Christopher Maurier, Lucia Butruccio, Christy Costa, and Jamy Dalton; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and close friend and caregiver, Michael Quatrale. He was predeceased by his siblings, Vito Jr., James, Archilles, Emanuel, Catherine Hyzuk, Marie Bittner, and Eleanor Garvey.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Route 125, Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 10 a.m., in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home.
