Hampton, NH — James R. "Sonny" Valentino, 81, of Hampton, NH, passed away Monday, November 25, at home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Giuseppe J. and Rose "Gemmellaro" Valentino. James was raised in Lawrence and later was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was the President of Universal Fence Company and a heavy equipment operator, member of Local 4. After retiring he enjoyed his time at the beach in Hampton and Florida.
James is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Fay Valentino of Hampton, NH; daughter, Mary Lynn Hackett and her husband, Barry, of Westborough, MA; sons, Joseph Valentino and his wife, Lisa, of Benson, NC, James Robert Valentino, Jr. of Goldsboro, NC, Christopher Valentino of Fairhaven, MA; stepdaughter, Mrs. Trisha (Murphy) Etter of Merrimac, MA; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Rosenberg of Seabrook, NH and Mrs. Angelina DiLorenzo of Haverhill, MA; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Greenglass.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, November 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 30, at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
