James R. "Sonny" Valentino, 81

Hampton, NH — James R. "Sonny" Valentino, 81, of Hampton, NH, passed away Monday, November 25, at home with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Giuseppe J. and Rose "Gemmellaro" Valentino. James was raised in Lawrence and later was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was the President of Universal Fence Company and a heavy equipment operator, member of Local 4. After retiring he enjoyed his time at the beach in Hampton and Florida.

James is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Fay Valentino of Hampton, NH; daughter, Mary Lynn Hackett and her husband, Barry, of Westborough, MA; sons, Joseph Valentino and his wife, Lisa, of Benson, NC, James Robert Valentino, Jr. of Goldsboro, NC, Christopher Valentino of Fairhaven, MA; stepdaughter, Mrs. Trisha (Murphy) Etter of Merrimac, MA; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Rosenberg of Seabrook, NH and Mrs. Angelina DiLorenzo of Haverhill, MA; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Greenglass.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, November 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 30, at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James' honor may be made to Rockingham VNA and Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Suite F, Exeter, NH 03833. Mr. Valentino's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Rockingham VNA and Hospice for their care and compassion in this difficult time.     Amherst, MA — Marina Kachulis - beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Monday, April 7, at her home in Amherst, Mass. Born in New York City and orphaned at six with her two younger siblings at the height of The Depression, she was raised by various relatives until the age of 17, when she brought the family together and helped her father raise the two younger children. After graduating as the Valedictorian from Girls High School in Brooklyn, she went to work to help support the family. Marina married the love of her life, Bill Kachulis, in 1949. They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Jimmy and Nick; and grandchildren, Chris, Demetri, Maria Terese and Anye; and daughters-in-law, Anne Moriarty and Martha Zorn.

    North Andover, MA — Anthony J. Monteiro, 55, of North Andover, MA, died March 26, 2014, at Mass General Hospital. Tony grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ, the son of the late Anthony J. and Elizabeth R. (DiIenno) Monteiro. He was a 1976 graduate of Cherry Hill High School East, where his passion for running began on the track and x-country teams. Tony became a ham radio operator in 1973 seeding another lifelong passion. He graduated with high honors from Drexel University, Philadelphia, in 1980, and was hired by AT&T Bell Labs. Tony graduated in 1981 with his Masters in Computer Science/Computer Engineering from Stanford University. He was promoted to engineering manager in 1985. In 1992 he became a management consultant in the information industry and in 1994 he re-entered the telecommunications environment, including working for several start-ups. Tony retired from Cisco Systems in 2002 and devoted his time to his family and his love of ham radio, antennas and satellites.

Lillian was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 7, 1930, daughter of Carroll and Lillian Zachrisson. She graduated from Boston Girls’ Latin School in 1947 and from Wellesley College, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1951. Beginning post-graduate work at Union Theological Seminary that fall and doing field work at the East Harlem Protestant Parish, she met Frederic A. Pease, Jr., whom she married on June 20, 1953.
