Roger J. Smith, 66

Andover — Roger Smith, 66 of Andover died peacefully on the morning of October 11, 2012.

He was born in Worcester, and was a true “family man”. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his wife, children, granddaughter, extended family members and friends. Roger dedicated his life to family, friends and physical activity. He was a caregiver, lover of the outdoors, biking, swimming, tai chi and a master of puns and “dad jokes”. He was a music aficionado and accomplished guitarist. A graduate of University of Massachusetts Amherst and Troy State University in Alabama, he served in the Air Force from 1968-1972.

Roger was the devoted husband of Susan (Schwartz) Smith; beloved father of Tamara and her husband Scott Borowick of Chelmsford and Kimberly and her husband Tray Biasiolli of Davis, Calif.; cherished grandfather of Cassandra Borowick; dear son of Sylvia (Mess) Smith and the late Aaron smith and loving brother of Stephen and his wife Elaine Smith, all of Maine.

ARRANGEMENTS: Services at Temple Emanuel 7 Haggetts Pond Road (off Route 133) Andover on Wednesday October 17 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Condolence calls may be made following the service at his late residence until 8 p.m. only.
