Lawrence — Judy H. Zaremba, 89, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 17, at Penacook Place in Haverhill.
The daughter of the late John H. and Helen A. (Zembruski) Zaremba, Judy was born in Lawrence on April 12, 1923. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity School, Lawrence High School, Fay Secreterial School and Academy Moderne, both in Boston. She was employed as a secretary for several local businesses in her early years. Later she was employed as a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service in Boston and Lowell. She was secretary to the executive director at the I. R. S. Northeast Service Center in Andover, retiring in 1977, after 35 years of service. She started the Andover Service Center Retirees Association in 1979. She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Church of Lawrence, where she participated in many parish events. She enjoyed traveling, theater and bingo. She resided in Lawrence most of her life.
She is survived by first cousins, Joseph Kowalczyk and his wife Gail of Amesbury, Barbara Barry and her husband James of Lawrence, and Diane Turonis and her husband John of Methuen.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 22, at 11 a.m. at the Boles Memorial-Baron-McAuliffe-Yameen Funeral Home, 184 Jackson Street, Lawrence (978-686-0386). Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. Relatives and friends may call Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
