North Andover — Armand “Babe” Joseph Lamontagne, 85, of North Andover died Friday at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
Armand was born October 24, 1927 to the late Ernest and Albina Lamontagne in Lawrence.
He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. Armand worked for many years for Western Electric. He enjoyed playing golf, the card game known as 45’s and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Michael’s parish in North Andover, The Pioneers at AT & T, golf league, softball league, bowling league for Western Electric/ At&T.
Armand also served with the US Army during the Korean War as a staff sargeant in a mash unit.
Armand is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Nora L. (Noury) Lamontagne as well as two brothers, Raymond and Leo Lamontagne.
He is survived by a son, Adam Lamontagne of North Andover and a daughter, Dianne (Gebelein/ Phelps) Bishop and her husband Daniel A. Bishop, Sr. of East Wakefield, N.H.; a sister, Rita Dittrich of Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Irene Lamontagne of Lawrence; grandchildren, C. Wade and Elizabeth Phelps, Joel S. and Kelly Phelps, Daniel A. Bishop, Jr., Sandra K. (Bishop) and Russell Hawkins, Cherie M. Bishop, David M. and Karen Bishop; and great-grandchildren, James and Isabella Phelps, Tyler, Jared and Molly Phelps, Brianna Consentino, Abby and Lindsay Hawkins, Chase and Reese Bishop; as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St. North Andover. A funeral service will be offered on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in Lawrence.
